Dr. Ivan Bandovic is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, revision arthroplasty, and fracture care.

Dr. Bandovic, a New York native, graduated from Stony Brook University, and went to medical school at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Warren in Detroit, Michigan where he gained extensive operative experience in both primary and complex arthroplasty as well as the full spectrum of orthopedic trauma. Over the course of five years, he built a strong surgical foundation in hip and knee replacements, revision procedures, and orthopedic trauma surgery, ultimately serving as Chief Resident and contributing to a robust research program with peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. Next, he completed an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he further trained under leaders in the field with a focused emphasis on primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty. Throughout his training, Dr. Bandovic has learned from dozens of expert surgeons, and has adopted advanced, safe, and proven surgical techniques into his practice. He remains active in attending national conferences to stay current with the latest medical and surgical advances.

Dr. Bandovic believes that every patient is more than their diagnosis. He takes time to understand each patient’s full picture — their lifestyle, goals, activity level, and overall health — before recommending a course of treatment. Whether a patient is exploring conservative options or preparing for surgery, Dr. Bandovic is committed to shared decision-making, clear communication, and a care plan that fits the individual, not just the diagnosis.

On his free time, Dr. Bandovic enjoys spending time with his family, his dog, golfing, hiking, snowboarding, reading, playing chess, and learning about history.
